
C. M. Chady is here for the bizarre and beautiful, surreal and raw. Literature is her life: as a writer, poet, editor, reader, teacher, and all that remains. She holds an MFA Creative Writing & Poetics from Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics where she was the Anne Waldman Fellow and a BA in Anthropology and International & Area Studies, minor in Photography, from Washington University in St. Louis.
Her work spans multiple genres including poetry, fiction, and hybrid and often revolves around ideas of memory, nature, impermanence, and lineage. She has been published nationally and internationally. Her anthology Embodied Unconscious: the feminine space of sexuality, surrealism, and experimental literature based on scholarship from the Jack Kerouac School Audio Archive is forthcoming with Spuyten Duyvil in 2023.
C. M. Chady works on a variety of publications in addition to her creative practice. In 2019, she co-founded the bite-sized experimental literary magazine Tiny Spoon with co-conspirator Stephanie Michele. She also writes in collaboration with the womxn of Wisdom Body Collective. In 2021, WBC put out More Revolutionary Letters: a Tribute to Diane di Prima in commemoration of her insurmountable legacy. In the past, she worked with collective.aporia’s *apo-press as Editor-in-Chief, JKS’s Bombay Gin as Editor-in-Chief, and River Styx as Managing Editor and Hungry Young Poets Reading Series Director.
